NW woman convicted of killing family to hear her fate
Updated | By Masechaba Sefularo
Sentencing proceedings against a North West woman accused of wiping out her entire family are set to start in the High Court in Pretoria on Monday.

In January, the woman and her two co-accused were found guilty of the 2016 murder of her parents and two siblings at their Mmakau home near Brits in the West.
The trio were tried after the woman, who is accused number two in the matter, confessed to orchestrating the murders
When she confessed to the murders in December 2021, Onthatile Sebati fingered cousins Tumelo and Kagiso Mokone as her accomplices
Upon their arrest, the pair corroborated the woman’s version, but all three later claimed they were assaulted and coerced - leading to a trial within a trial
The confessions were admitted as evidence, along with fingerprints and transactions linking the trio to the crime
Sentencing proceedings are set down until Friday.
*The woman cannot be named in line with the Child Justice Act as she was a minor when the crime was committed
