Nxasana inquiry terminated
Updated | By sibahle motha
"The chairperson received a call from the Presidency last night to say it must not go ahead," inquiry spokesperson Andile Tshona told News24 on Monday morning.
He could not provide reasons for the decision.
The inquiry would have been headed by Advocate Nazeer Cassim and would have investigated Nxasana's "fitness and propriety to hold office".
It would have investigated amongst other things, his two previous convictions of assault, complaints of professional misconduct laid against him with the KwaZulu-Natal law society, criminal charges for acts of violence and his arrest and detention on criminal charges.
