Nzimande’s comments come amid an increase in deadly head-on collisions.

The past week saw multiple deaths in four head-on crashes.
On Monday, six people were killed at Kameeldrif on R537 Moloto Road in an accident involving a bus, an armoured vehicle and a car.
Another head-on collision on Thursday, this time on the N1 between Murrayhill and Hammanskraal, claimed the lives of five people.
On Friday, yet another head-on collision on the R57 between Heilbron and Sasolburg in the Free State also claimed five lives.
In the deadliest incident this week, 13 people were killed in a crash on the R26 between Bethlehem and Fouriesburg, also in the Free State.
Nzimande warned that there would be consequences when motorists fail to obey the rules of the road.
"I have directed all law enforcement agencies to maximise their visibility in all of the fifty known hazardous locations throughout the country.
"Road safety officers throughout the country are also urged to maximize their visibility by conducting road safety blitz along the majority road corridors in their own respective provinces and municipalities.”
Nzimande has also called upon the private sector, including the trucking, bus and taxi industries to ensure that they develop measures to monitor compliance by their drivers.
