Simon Ndyalvana, Caylene Whiteboy and Vorster Netshiongolo briefly appeared at the Protea Glen Magistrate’s Court on Thursday morning.
During their last appearance, Whiteboy abandoned legal aid and was in the process of getting a private lawyer.
The 16-year-old’s father Clint Smith said he is happy that the trio will remain in custody for a bit longer as the family feels they should not get bail.
The case was postponed to 22 September for a formal bail application.
