Officers shot during Bulwer robbery
Updated | By Neo Leeuw
Two police officers were shot and wounded during a robbery in Bulwer, in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, police said on Monday.

Captain Thulani Zwane said the officers were responding to a shop robbery on Sunday afternoon, when they were confronted by 15 armed men.
"On arrival, two constables were attacked and shot by the suspects who were still at the scene. The two constables were shot in their legs and their firearms were taken," Zwane said.
"The suspects took an undisclosed amount from the shop as well as airtime vouchers and chocolates before they fled in their getaway Colt bakkie."
As the group fled the scene, they hijacked a second bakkie. Both vehicles were abandoned later.
Some of the stolen goods and cash was recovered. No arrests were made.
KwaZulu-Natal police commissioner Lt-Gen Mmamonnye Ngobeni condemned the attack on the officers.
