Oldest person in Limpopo laid to rest

One of the country’s oldest people has been laid to rest after passing away at the age of 105.

Gogo Njhakanjhaka Masingi Chabane was born in 1912, the same year as the establishment of the African National Congresss (ANC).
Family spokesperson Magezi Masingi says the funeral was a joyful occasion.
“She taught me discipline and respect for other people, love for others and honesty. The community was at the funeral, nobody cried, including us the family we were happy considering how long she had lived.”
Masingi thanked Chabane’s daughter-in-law Mhani Nothisa Masingi for taking care of the provinces oldest person.
He also called on young people in the country to emulate Nothisa Masingi, who continued to care for Gogo Chabane even when she could no longer walk due to her old age
