One dead, 200 evacuated in Ivory Park floods

Flooding from the weekend's heavy rain in Ivory Park, north of Johannesburg has left at least one person dead and some 200 residents displaced.
Johannesburg Mayor Mpho Phalatse says the three people who were reported missing have been found.
“Joburg EMS search and rescue teams were dispatched after learning that four people were missing. Regrettably, one body was recovered on Saturday morning, the family was informed.
“As it stands, 193 individuals have been displaced by the flooding and the city is working to provide suitable temporary emergency housing.
"The affected are currently being housed in a community hall, with some being accommodated by friends and family Furthermore, relief is being provided by the city and several NGOs."
Phalatse says officials from the housing department are working to ensure that the affected area, which lies on a flood line, is not occupied again by residents.
