Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
A truck driver has been killed after his vehicle crashed through a cement barrier and landed on the Gautrain tracks on Wednesday afternoon.
The truck landed on the tracks between the Hatfield and Pretoria stations.
Tshwane EMS spokesperson Johan Pieterse says one other person was seriously injured.
"We had to use specialised rescue tools to extricate the body," he says.
Gautrain commuters can expect delays.
Gautrain spokesperson Kesagee Nayager says: "No trains were involved in the accident. A Gautrain bus service has been established to transport commuters between Pretoria and Hatfield until the service is fully restored."
