A man died and two others were injured in a collision in Mariannhill, near Pinetown, early on Sunday morning, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.
ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said paramedics arrived on the scene just after midnight and found that a bakkie and car had collided. There was one occupant trapped in the bakkie.
The man, believed to be about 40, was assessed. He showed no signs of life, and there was nothing that could be done for him and he was declared dead.
The two occupants of the car were found lying next to the vehicle. Paramedics assessed the driver, believed to be 33, and the passenger, believed to be 26, and found that they sustained moderate injuries. They were treated and transported to local hospitals for further medical care, Bodasing said.
