One killed in blaze near Kwa Mai Mai in Joburg

Johannesburg emergency services have confirmed the death of at least one person in a fire at an informal settlement near Kwa Mai Mai.
Last year, a blaze at the settlement claimed the lives of nine people and destroyed hundreds of homes.
Fire and rescue teams have been battling the blaze since the early hours of Sunday morning.
Emergency services spokesperson Nana Radebe says more than 400 homes were affected by the fire.
“On arrival we found the whole area was affected. Four hundred to 450 shacks that have been affected. One person has died, and one person has been taken to hospital with burns.
"There is a head count that is currently ongoing to account for everybody, disaster management is to assist for the displaced families."
The fire has been extinguished.
The cause of the blaze will be investigated.
