This includes retrieving hijacked buildings from syndicates, the removal of foreign national drivers - as this does not constitute a critical skill - and taking legal steps against the management at Kalafong Hospital in Tshwane.

Speaking at the organisation’s press briefing at the Reef Hotel in Johannesburg, deputy chairperson Dan Radebe denied the group barred anyone from accessing healthcare at the facility.

“These people we don’t deny that they are here, if someone needs medical help they have to be attended to. But, upon discharging them, how do you then discharge them onto the street, and yet you’ve got Atteridgeville police station which is hardly 500 metres away from the hospital?” he complained

Reading the group’s media statement on Thursday, Operation Dudula’s secretary general Zandile Dabula said the group has given government until next Wednesday to address what it calls the lack of profiling and record keeping at health facilities.

“We call on the department of home affairs to immediately deploy officials who will verify patients against the population register, and the SAPS crime intelligence across all public health facilities, data collected from schools and health facilities must be shared with Interpol too as we return illegal immigrants to their respective countries.”

At the same time, Operation Dudula has confirmed it will be heading to the Constitutional Court to challenge the extension of the Zimbabwe Exemption Permit (ZEP) by another six months.

Dabula said they have instructed their attorneys to apply for direct access to the apex court to interdict the Minister of Home Affairs Aaron Motsoaledi from extending the permit.

"It is our view that the decision to extend the ZEPs is irrational and unconstitutional, to say the least. This position will be ventilated in a competent court of law," Dabula said.

The group has vowed to beef up its organisational capacity while calling on South Africans to join and support their organisation by donating money, tech equipment, expertise, and time.
