OR Tambo goes manual following technical glitch
Updated | By Princess Mahogo
OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg has been affected by technical challenges on Thursday which could lead to delays in both domestic and international flights.

OR Tambo’s spokesperson Samukelo Khambule says several digital systems have been affected by the glitch.
“This is affecting the baggage sortation system and the 2D bar code system”.
She says as a contingency, the operations team is processing luggage manually at the domestic and the essential terminal buildings.
“The security team has implemented a manual boarding pass screening process. The teams on site are working tirelessly to resolve the problem”.
Khambule says passengers are urged to get to the airport early to avoid delays.
“OR Tambo International Airport apologises for the inconvenience caused,” she concluded.
The landing and departing of aircraft have not been affected by the technical glitch.
