O'Sullivan wins interdict application

"We won with costs, and I look forward to seeing Radovan Krejcir spend the rest of his life in jail," he said.

 

"They [Krejcir's lawyers] knew five months ago that their case was lost and we spent in excess of R1.5 million to get this far...

 

He believed the cellphone records application had been brought for no other reason than to slow down the case against Krejcir.

 

"I will see to it that justice is served," he said.

 

O'Sullivan, national police commissioner Riah Phiyega, detective Colonel Nkosana "Killer" Ximba, and crime intelligence boss Chris Ngcobo all had subpoenas served on them by Krejcir's lawyers.

 

The lawyers were seeking all documentation which led Phiyega to reportedly order the arrest of Krejcir and one of his co-accused, Desai Luphondo, in November.

 

On June 10, Independent Online reported that O'Sullivan filed papers to interdict Krejcir's defence team from going through his cellphone records.

 

His cellphone provider had been subpoenaed to provide the records from June last year to February 2014, and it had done so.

 

Krejcir and five others, Luphondo, Warrant Officers Samuel "Saddam" Maropeng and George Nthoroane, Jan Lefu Mofokeng, and

 

Siboniso Miya are on trial on charges of kidnapping, attempted murder, and dealing in drugs.

 

They allegedly recruited a man known as Doctor Nkosi to help smuggle 25kg of tik (methamphetamine) to Australia. Nkosi, who worked for a cargo company at OR Tambo International Airport, disappeared with the shipment.

 

Krejcir and his co-accused allegedly kidnapped and tortured his brother Bheki Lukhele in a bid to have him reveal his sibling's whereabouts.
