OUTsurance: Nikita Murray ‘not employee’ as it cans all Katlego Maboe ads
Insurance giant OUTsurance has denied reports that Nikita Murray is a company employee amid her cheating row with media personality Katlego Maboe.
This comes after a video of a heated argument between Maboe and his partner Monique Muller surfaced on social media in the early hours of Friday morning where he admits to being unfaithful with Murray.
Maboe's partner alleges that he gave her a sexually transmitted disease, affecting the chances of her having another child.
He also stands accused of physical abuse.
In the wake of the scandal, Maboe was suspended from the Expresso Morning Show pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
OUTsurance also opted to can all its ads with Maboe.
“Following media reports of infidelity and an acrimonious marital relationship, including alleged physical abuse, involving Katlego Maboe, OUTsurance has engaged extensively with Katlego and it was decided that Katlego and his family should be afforded the space and time to deal with this matter. As part of that discussion, the proposal was to in the meantime suspend all advertisements featuring Katlego,” OUTsurance spokesperson Natasha Kawulesar said on Monday.
“OUTsurance remains of the opinion that the matter should be resolved in private.”

Last week, the organisation's Gauteng chairperson Mike Moriarty announced Molapo was expelled from the party. The decision followed allegations that Molapo leaked Tshwane caucus information to Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema. Molapo believes the federal legal council and appeals processes hearings were politically-motivated and had a pre-determined outcome.
Kawulesar added the company no longer has ties with Murray either.
“We also want to clarify that Nikita Murray is not a current OUTsurance employee. She last worked for the company in 2018. Katlego and Nikita met independently and not via any relation to OUTsurance.”
OUTsurance believes Maboe should deal with the matter in private.
Meanwhile South Africans have weighed in on the scandal on social media, with some throwing criticism at the media personality and others pledging their support.
A petition is also circulating online in a bid to get Maboe back on air on the SABC 3 lifestyle show.
