Over 11 000 new Covid cases in 24 hours

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has reported 11 106 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.
"This brings the total number of laboratory-confirmed cases to 3 494 696. This represents a 22.2% positivity rate," said the NCID.
The bulk of new cases are from KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape at 26% respectively, followed by Gauteng at 19%, then Eastern Cape at 11%, Free State at 5%, and North West at 4%.
Limpopo and Northern Cape are both at 3%.
110 deaths were confirmed, bringing the total of deaths related to the virus since the pandemic to 91 561.
Hospital admissions continue to increase and 349 people were admitted in the last 24 hours.
