Panayiotou case continues
Updated | By Doreen Loubser
A trial-within-a-trial is currently underway in the Christopher Panayiotou murder trial which aims to deal with admissibility of a video recording between alleged middleman Luthando Siyoni and Panayiotou during an undercover police sting operation on April 29, last year - just a few days after Jayde Panayiotou's murder.

Detective Warrant Officer Leon Eksteen, who had been friends with the Panayiotous for 16 years prior to Jayde's murder, took to the stand yesterday. He told the court how he became involved in the investigation and how he facilitated phone calls Siyoni made to the businessman, in order for police to execute a sting operation.
Eksteen testified in court how he got involved in Jayde's murder investigation which eventually ended his friendhsip with the family.

He said he knew the Panayiotous for sixteen years and was invited to Chrisopher's wedding and became part of the task team shortly after accused number one was implicated by the alleged middle-man, Luthando Siyoni.
Defence advocate Terry Price cross examined Eksteen, which at times became heated.
Court adjourned until 11:00 this morning.
