Paramedic dies in KwaZulu-Natal crash
Updated | By ANA
A provincial emergency services paramedic died on Friday when an ambulance she was driving collided with a truck on the R612 between Ixopo and Donnybrook in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Robert Mckenzie said the paramedic and her colleague were on their way to attend to a child suffering from diarrhea when the accident occurred early on Friday.
“She passed away at the scene of the crash. Her colleague, Mr Shelembe, a basic life support paramedic who has only been working in the service for two months, was seriously injured and is currently recovering in hospital after sustaining head injuries,” said Mckenzie.
