The president has four months to present his final report and implementation plan of recommendations made in the report to Parliament.

On Wednesday the commission’s chairperson, Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, presented parts 5 and 6 of the final report to Ramaphosa.

In a letter addressed to the presiding officers of Parliament, Ramaphosa confirmed his commitment to engage with the report within four months, as stipulated in line with the directive of the High Court.

"The president appreciates that Parliament will need to engage in its own processes on the recommendations that affect it directly, especially from Volumes 1 and 2 of Part 5 as well as Volume 2 of Part 6," says parliamentary spokesperson Moloto Mothapo.

"While waiting for the president to submit his final report and implementation plan within four months, Parliament will, in the interim, seek legal opinion on the appropriate processing of these parts of the report received.

"The presiding officers have already referred several serving MPs mentioned in the parts of the report previously submitted by the president to the parliamentary Ethics Committee, as recommended.”
