The Department of Home Affairs has been given two weeks to report back on disciplinary measures taken against security officers at Lindela Repatriation Centre near Krugersdorp.
The guards allegedly assisted 37 illegal immigrants, who were awaiting deportation, to escape from the centre last week.
Parliament's home affairs committee visited the centre on Monday morning.
The committee has also asked that all contracts with the now-liquidated company Bosasa be evaluated.
Chairperson Bongani Bongo says the department has been given two weeks to report back to the committee.
"We have given the department two weeks to give a report about the disciplinary hearings of two employees that are taking place and the proceeding of the contracts and cancellation fo the contracts that are there.
The 37 detainees who escaped from the facility have still not been found.
It's alleged that the detainees escaped with the assistance of security guards, who knocked off earlier than usual.
iots also erupted at the centre following a visit by Home Affairs Minister Aaron Motsoaledi on Wednesday.
The riots were allegedly caused by Lesotho nationals, who were demanding to be deported back home amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Ninety-four Lesotho nationals have since been deported to their country of origin.
