Partnership to fund youth
Updated | By Lonwabo Miso
A R3 billion fund has been set up to help youth-owned enterprises, the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) said on Thursday.
The joint fund -- between the NYDA, the Industrial Development Corporation, and the Small Enterprise Finance Agency -- followed the signing of the Youth Employment Accord in April last year.
"Government and its social partners made a commitment to prioritise youth employment and skills development."
The accord was one of a series of pacts signed to help achieve the goal of five million new jobs by 2020, the agency said.
The partnership would be launched on Friday in East London.
