Parts of Pretoria East still without power
Some parts of Pretoria East were still without electricity on Tuesday morning following the weekend’s fire at the Wapadrand substation.
Areas that were powered up on Tuesday morning include Waparand, Equestria, Silverlakes, Six Fountains, Tygerpoort and Zwavelpoort.
MMC for Utility Services Phillip Nel says the substation will be switched on in phases.
"I must emphasise, the switching on will be done in phases and I again urge all residents to switch off all high energy appliances, to prevent further trips as we re-energise the system.
Faerie Glen, Olympus, and Broadwalk are expected to get power back on Wednesday.
"The current expected repair time for these suburbs is two days (Wednesday evening). We will continue with at least twice daily updates which focus on these repairs," said Nel.
