PE rapist jailed for life

A 33-year-old man convicted of raping a six-year-old girl was jailed for life by the Port Elizabeth High Court on Thursday, the Eastern Cape National Prosecuting Authority said.

Spokesman Tsepo Ndwalaza said Xolisile Tose wanted to appeal against the sentence but was denied.
"The court dismissed his application for appealing the jail sentence."
Ndwalaza said Tose deserved to be jailed for life based on what he did to the child.
"We are very pleased with the sentence because we believe he deserves it."
Tose raped a six-year-old girl three years ago after luring her to his home.
He repeatedly raped her and threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
People in the area found the girl on the street, wearing a bloodstained sweater.
