A pedestrian died when he was knocked down by a vehicle on the Khutsong main road in Carletonvillle, western Gauteng, in the early hours of Sunday morning, paramedics said.
“It is understood that the man landed under another vehicle that was stationary at the time after he was knocked over,” ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said in a statement.
When ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene they found the man under the vehicle. It was found that he sustained fatal injuries.
The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries. He was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care. The cause of the accident was unknown, and authorities were on the scene for further investigations, Bodasing said
