“Shortly before 8am, paramedics arrived on the scene where they found a car in the middle island of the road,” ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak said.
It had severe damage to its windshield. A woman was found lying a few metres away from the car.
Upon further assessment, paramedics found that the woman sustained multiple fatal injuries. There was nothing they could do for her and she was declared dead on the scene.
“A young couple in the vehicle was assessed on scene. They sustained no physical injuries and were only in shock.”
The cause of the accident would be investigated by the local authorities that attended the scene, Vermaak said.
