WATCH: 'We are the people of Palestine' - ANC leads march to Israeli embassy

The ANC’s Gauteng provincial chairperson, Panyaza Lesufi, has made it clear that the party will continue to stand in solidarity with those who supported them during the struggle against apartheid.
The governing party and other civil society groups marched to the Israeli embassy in Pretoria on Friday.
The march was meant to highlight the plight of the Palestinian people and urge peace and talks between Palestine and Israel.
"Today, we are taking a strong point that no matter how much they can insult us, no matter how much they can invest to credit us, we will forever stand with those who supported us during apartheid.
“We don't change like weather. You stand with us. We will stand with you. You can't support us when you are free but hate us when we are oppressed.
“We are unashamed that we stand with the people of Palestine.
“The people of Palestine are us; we are the people of Palestine, and we stand very firmly in that position," said Lesufi.
Lesufi also sent a stern warning to the ANC’s coalition partners, which came out in support of Israel.
"We don't have friends that are cowards and all those political parties that are in coalition with us and have decided to stand on the side of Israel - they must know it is over from today.”
Patriotic Alliance leaders Kenny Kunene and Gayton MacKenzie recently came out in support of Israel in its war with Hamas.
It’s been over two weeks since Hamas militants launched an unprecedented attack inside Israeli territory.
Israeli air strikes have since killed more than 2,670 people - a quarter of them children and wounded nearly 10,000 others in Gaza, where a catastrophic humanitarian crisis is unfolding.
The United Nations estimates one million people, nearly half of Gaza’s population, have been forced from their homes.
The South African government has expressed solidarity and support for the people of Palestine while also condemning the killing of civilians on both sides.
