People's March take to Beyers Naude Drive

South Africans are taking part in various protest marches across South Africa, with some Joburg residents blocking off the M1 bridge on Beyers Naude Drive.

Organisers of the march explained that the march was a non-political and non-racial "peaceful people's movement".

Residents have been posting pictures from the scene on social media.

The marches were organised by various civil rights organisations, with the main march that will take place in Pretoria on Friday.

Members of civil society organisations such as Section 27, Save SA will make their way from Church Square to the Union Buildings to protest against President Jacob Zuma following his recent cabinet reshuffle, which saw Pravin Gordhan removed as Finance Minister.
