PHOTOS: Cash-in-transit van robbed in Limpopo

Robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash after they opened fire on a G4 Security company vehicle transporting cash near Mokopane in Limpopo on Monday, police said.

Spokeswoman Colonel Ronel Otto said a group of ten people travelling in two BMW vehicles opened fire on the security vehicle on the road between Mokopane and Roedtan. They keot shooting until the security vehicle came to a standstill.
“Attempts were made to blast the safe in the vehicle, but that was unsuccessful. The suspects fled after taking a few bags containing coins only. Two guards sustained slight injuries,” she said.
The getaway vehicles were found abandoned a few kilometers from the scene. No arrest have been made. - ANA
