PHOTOS: Multiple vehicle accident

According to paramedics several people were injured in the accident that took place on the N1 South at 14th Avenue in Johannesburg.

"The truck collided with several vehicles with traffic severely affected this morning," ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring told Jacaranda FM news.

Authorities have urged motorists to make use of alternative routes while paramedics and traffic officials attend to the scene.

"Traffic officials are currently on the scene to investigate the possible cause of the accident," Meiring said.

Meanwhile two people were killed and another injured after three trucks collided on the N12 Highway in Springs, east of Johannesburg, last night.

Two patients were treated on the scene, one patient with serious injuries while the second had sustained only moderate injuries.
