PHOTOS: SA actress arrested for 15kg of crystal meth
Sars arrested a popular South African actress on Sunday after crystal meth worth R4.6 million was discovered in her bags at the OR International Airport.
The actress cannot be named until she appears in the Kempton Park Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Sars spokesperson Luther Lebelo says the actress had just landed from Abu Dhabi when customs officials scanned her luggage.
"The passenger was proceeding through the 'nothing to declare' green channel. Her bags were scanned and the images of the scan showed suspicious content. Upon searching the bag 15.4 kilograms of crystal meth was discovered" he said.
The drugs were seized and the actress was handed over to the South African Police Service.
