Sentencing of a physiotherapist convicted of defrauding a medical scheme and the labour department's Compensation Fund was postponed on Friday, the department said.
The matter against physiotherapist Abel Diokana would resume on September 18 in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court.
"The court is still waiting for correctional services officer and social worker assessment reports, and the Asset Forfeiture Unit to complete an enquiry into the assets of Diokana," spokesman Page Boikanyo said.
Diokana defrauded the fund of almost R1 million.
In April, Diokana pleaded guilty to four counts of fraud and two counts of money laundering. He helped six officials defraud the fund.
Diokana's co-accused Maxwell Ramaphosa, Samuel Mfeleng, Kgabo Methi, Debbie Venter, Tendani Mukomafhedzi, and Billy Ramskin are being tried separately. They are all former labour department employees.
