PIC: At least 15 injured in taxi accident

According to ER24 paramedics the two taxis were found in the middle of the road, with a considerable amount of damage.

"On assessment, paramedics found that roughly 15 patients had been injured in the collision. Two of the patients were found to be in a critical condition," ER24 said in a statement.

Rescue services used the jaws-of-life to free one of the drivers who was trapped in his vehicle in a 30 minute operation.

Patients on scene sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate and they were treated for their injuries before being transported to nearby facilities for further observation.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
