PICS: Three arrested for possession of crayfish

Police in Cape Town have arrested three suspects for possession of crayfish, erectile enhancers and stolen property, provincial police said on Thursday.
Police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk said that on Wednesday members of Border Police at Cape Town Harbour received information about crayfish that was being transported from Hout Bay illegally.
“SAPS vehicles were deployed on possible roadways, where a vehicle was traced later to an address in Phillipi, at a tyre repair shop. Two vehicles were identified at the premises and searched, with driver/owner in them. In the back of a Nissan Sani blue bags were found, containing crayfish tails. The two vehicles and three suspects were then taken to Phillipi SAPS for further investigation.”
Van Wyk said after the vehicles were searched, the following transgressions were identified:
1. Possession of crayfish without a permit – 1819 crayfish tails of which 282 in berry.
2. Various erectile enhancers, covering brands Kamagra / Cialis / Vigora / Viagra / Zenegra and some unidentified pills.
3. Possession of possible stolen property – various jewellery (gold rings and chains) as well as a handcuff marked SAP.
“All three suspects, aged between 24 and 54, were arrested and their vehicles seized. The estimated street value of the items seized is R150,000. The arrested suspects are due to appear in the Wynberg Magistrates Court once charged.”
