[PICTURES] Heavy rains close gravel roads and bush camps in the Kruger National Park
Updated | By Lulutho Mkosi
The Kruger National Parks have closed gravel roads leading to several bush camps due to flooding.
This comes after the South African Weather Services (SAWS) issued a warning of severe thunderstorms and heavy rains in Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces.
South African National Parks (SANparks) spokesperson, Reynold Thakhuli, says they are expecting the flood waters to start clearing on Wednesday.
"Since Monday, various parts of the Kruger National Park in particular the far north has received heavy rains since the early morning of Monday," says Thakuli.
"As management we'd like to advise guests arriving in the Park and those that are already in the Park to be on the look-out and avoid using gravel roads until further notice."
Thakhuli says no guests have been trapped in the park.
