National police commissioner Khehla Sitole has tested positive for Covid-19, his office confirmed on Tuesday.
The commissioner’s spokesperson Vish Naidoo says the commissioner was exposed to a Covid-19 case.
“General Sitole underwent a test yesterday after coming into contact with a member of the SAPS who tested positive for the virus.
“He is not showing any signs or symptoms of the virus this stage and he has indicated that the doctor treating him is satisfied that it was not necessary for him to be hospitalised. But he must be isolated for the next 10 days.”
