Limpopo police say 5 suspects who have allegedly been involved in a recent spate of farm attacks in the Tzaneen area, have been arrested.
The major breakthrough followed investigations by a special task team, consisting of a provincial team and a local task team.
Police spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says 14 rifles, two pistols and 318 rounds of ammunition for different calibre fire arms were confiscated.
"The suspects are between the ages of 24 and 55. Two of them are out on parole after being sentenced for a spate of armed robberies."
He adds the investigation continues and they hope to make more arrests.
"We hope that this will bring relieve for farmers in the Tzaneen area because according to our understanding this was the group that targeted farmers."
The suspects are expected to appear in the Tzaneen Magistrates' Court on Monday.
