Police deployed across Tshwane

The Tswhane Metro Police Department has urged motorists to avoid areas that are affected by violent protests that broke out in the region last night.
According to spokesperson, Isaac Mahamba motorists should make use of alternative routes.
"Several streets leading into the Pretoria CBD are heavily affected by the protests," Mahamba said.
Mahamba added that the R101 from Hammanskraal, as well as the Mabopane highway have been barricaded with burning tyres.
"Daspoort tunnel in Pretoria-West has been barricaded in both ways," he said.
He reiterated that all the main roads leading into the Pretoria CB have been affected.
Police have meanwhile established a joint operation centre in the Pretoria CBD consisting of various law enforcement agencies.
"We have deployed SAPS members to all the hotspots in the Tswhane area - even those who were off-duty have been called in to assist," police spokesperson, Noxolo Kweza said.
Kweza said that they have enough manpower to take control of the situation.
"We have enough members to take control of the situation. We are calling members from head office as well. We are in control of the situation," Kweza added.
