Police dismiss claims that Nkandla police van was supposed to arrest Zuma

The South African Police Service has dismissed reports that one of its vans, which was turned away at the gate to Jacob Zuma’s Nkandla home, was supposed to arrest the former president.
A video surfaced on social media on Wednesday, showing a police van being turned away by the members of the Umkhonto We Sizwe Military Veteran Association (MKMVA).
National police spokesperson Vishnu Naidoo says the van was on regular patrols in the area.
"With regard to the tweet showing a police vehicle outside the former President Zuma's home in Nkandla, we can confirm that this is in line with the local SAPS routine patrol regiment.
"We urge members of the public to desist from spreading misinformation as this has the potential of causing more harm than good."
MKMVA spokesperson Carl Niehaus has vowed to organise a shield that will protect Zuma from being arrested.
Zuma was given five days by the Constitutional Court to hand himself over at either Nkandla or Johannesburg Central police stations.
