Police fire rubber bullets at Mokopane protestors

Police in Limpopo have fired rubber bullets and teargas in an attempt to disperse protestors in Mokopane.

Angry residents have been blocking various public roads around the area on Wednesday.
There were apparently two set of protests, one in opposition to Mogalakwena Mayor Andrina Matsemela and the other one in support of her.
The police’s Motlafela Mojapelo says the protestors’ demands are unclear, but they have since dispersed.
“The situation in Mokopane has been stabilised after about 1000 protestors had to be dispersed by the police.
“Police will maintain their presence in the area to make sure that calm remains.”
