Police hunt for more Rhodes Park suspects

A manhunt was underway for more people involved in the double murder at Rhodes Park where two men were drowned and a woman raped in Kensington, Johannesburg, police said on Monday.

“One suspect has been arrested and will appear in court today. Members have launched a search for more suspects who could be linked to the crime,” said Gauteng police spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini.
A man was arrested in Yeoville on Friday in connection with the incident that shook the Kensington community three weeks ago.
Two couples were attacked by 12 men while walking through park. One women was raped, while the other woman managed to escape.
The two men were bound and thrown into the Rhodes Park lake. Their bodies were recovered several hours later.
A 24-year-old suspect was scheduled to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of murder, attempted murder and rape.
