Police investigate Cullinan mine murder

Police are investigating the murder and attempted murder of security personnel at the Cullinan diamond mine, east of Pretoria.

The two were conducting patrols at the Petra Diamonds mine when was officer was shot and killed and the other thrown out of the vehicle before the suspects escaped with the company's vehicle.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubela says police are investigating a case of murder, attempted murder and high jacking and kidnapping.
Makhubela says the guards were found in an open field.
He adds the other victim was found with a blade wound and was hospitalised.
Petra Diamonds has put out a reward of R100 000 for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the suspects.
The company's Gert Klopper says the mining company will go to "far lengths to get the perpetrators arrested".
