The body of 30-year-old Njie Mojapelo, who was a nurse at Ga-Seleka outside Lephalale, was discovered by a neighbour.

It is alleged that her partner, Dakalo Muruba who is a social worker, killed Mojapelo in a domestic violence-related incident and later hanged himself.

Police spokesperson, Motlafela Mojapelo says investigations revealed that the woman was stabbed several times while the murder weapon was also found lying next to her body.

"The inquest investigations regarding the other deceased who was found hanging from the rafters are also unfolding to determine the cause of death,” says Mojapelo.

“The motive for this incident is unknown at this stage but domestic violence cannot be ruled out.”

MEC for Social Development in Limpopo, Nkakareng Rakgoale says they are saddened by the death of the two government employees who played a vital role in society.

The Department of Social Development has deployed social workers to the area to provide psychosocial services to affected employees and the two families.
