Police maintain presence at VUT
Updated | By MornéJK
The situation at the Vaal University of Technology was quiet on Thursday morning after weeks of violent protests for free higher education.
Police maintained their presence at the campus as students are unhappy about seven members of the SRC that have been suspended.
The campus was extensively damaged after clashes between police and students that intensified last night.
Students have vowed to continue their protest today.
"The students say that they will closed down the university but there is no indication if the protest will resume today," Jacaranda FM News' Maryke Vermaak said.
