Police monitoring protests around Mbombela

Roads coming in and out of Kanyamazane, Pienaar, and surrounding areas were blocked by protestors on Monday.

Spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety Moeti Mmusi says protesters blocked the N4 towards Matsulu with a truck early in the morning. 

"People are frustrated as they cannot get to work or school," 

"MEC Vusi Shongwe has acknowledged that sometimes there are challenges communities want to raise with government. He is appealing to protestors, that regardless of how aggrieved they are, there is no reason to infringe on the rights of others to work, travel, and do business.”
