Police need help in identifying KwaZulu-Natal burn victim

KwaZulu-Natal police are appealing to members of the Van Reenen community to assist in identifying the partially burnt body of a man found on Thursday.
According to KZN police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane, the body was found on the roadside on Thursday morning by a farmworker.
“[The] deceased is described to be around 45-years of age and was wearing a cream and pink striped shirt with [a] cream-coloured pair of pants,” said Zwane.
He said Van Reenen police were appealing to members of the community to assist with information on the identity of the man or information that could “shed light on what transpired”.

In addition to community information, police would also conduct DNA tests to identify the man as well as a post-mortem to determine the cause and possibly date of death.
