A female police officer from the Tshamutumbu police station in Limpopo was released on R1 000 bail, following her arrest on allegations of extortion.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused allegedly loaded groceries worth R954.00 into her private motor vehicle.
Police spokesperson in Limpopo Hlulani Mashaba says the suspect further threatened that she will continue taking the items until the owner paid up all the outstanding money.
"The owner of the shop alleged that during 2021, the suspect sold illicit cigarettes valued at R190 000 to him, and he paid through installments.
“The remaining balance was about R15 000, and he promised to pay the outstanding amount when he got money.
"The owner reported the incident to the police, and the extortion case was opened and then transferred to IPID (Independent Police Investigating Directorate) for further investigation.
"Police investigations are still continuing".
