Police officer missing after shootout in Kyalami

Police are looking for two suspects who may be holding a police officer hostage, after he was hijacked in a police car in the Bramley policing area early on Tuesday morning.
Police spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini says police traced the car to near the Kyalami Shopping Corner, where a shootout ensued.
"One suspect was shot and a police officer was also wounded and taken to hospital", says Dlamini.
However the police officer that was hijacked - is still missing.

"We are still looking for the police officer. We believe he is being held hostage by the suspects", adds Dlamini.
Meanwhile, Netcare 911 spokesperson Nick Dollman has confirmed a fatality at the scene.
"Tragically one person, a suspect, sustained severe injuries and died at the scene."
"Two others sustained moderate and serious injuries", says Dollman.
The patients were transported to hospital.
