Police officer nabbed for rape

The Independent Police
Investigative Directorate (Ipid) arrested a Dobsonville police officer for the
alleged rape of his ex-partner on Monday.

The police watchdog’s Moses Dlamini says the woman was at the officer’s home, and wanted to end their relationship, when he allegedly attacked her.
"The suspect then threatened the victim and raped her," Dlamini says.

The woman told police that is was not the first time that the constable had raped her.
She was taken to hospital for a medical evaluation.
The suspect will appear at the Dobsonville Magistrates Court on Wednesday on a charge of rape.
