Police officer shoots and kills wife

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate
(Ipid) is investigating an incident where an Eastern Cape police officer shot and killed
his wife.
The on-duty police constable, from the East London cluster, allegedly shot and killed his wife on the premises of the Voorpos primary school.
Ipid spokesperson Moses Dlamini says the shooting took place near one of the the school’s gates.
“I can confirm the shooting. A police constable shot and killed his 36-year-old wife, he was arrested by the police and is currently detained at the police station. A case of murder has been opened and he will appear in court on Monday,” says Dlamini.
The events leading up to the shooting are still unclear.
