Police probe into acid deaths
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Police are investigating the killing of three men who were allegedly forced to drink acid on Friday, after they were accused of hijacking taxis in Vosman in Mpumalanga.

It is alleged that four men were kidnapped and severely beaten on Thursday.
"On Friday, we received information that somewhere in extension 2 Hlalanikahle, there was a commotion at the taxi rank. We then went there with a view to investigate.
"When we arrived there, we were reliably informed that the four men who were kidnapped were at the taxi rank. When we made our way there, we were told that they had been moved to extension 11", says police spokesperson Leornard Hlathi.
Police then proceeded to extension 11 where they discovered the bodies of the three men.
"We proceeded further to extension 11 and when we arrived there we were told that they were in the offices of the taxi operators.
"News broke also that three of the men were already killed but one was still alive and we organised an ambulance so that he could be saved."
Hlathi says police managed to get some information from the victim.
"Before he could be taken (to hospital), he was able to narrate that they were beaten severely and also forced to drink acid, which is now an allegation that we are going to explore", adds Hlathi.
Police have opened three counts of murder, kidnapping as well as attempted murder.
