Police searching for cattle slaughtering syndicate

Police are searching for the suspects who are believed to be part of an syndicate slaughtering cattle on farms in the Polokwane area.

Limpopo police suspect the alleged criminals are slaughtering cattle possibly for their meat.

Provincial police spokesperson, Motlafela Mojapelo, says 12 cattle were found slaughtered on a farm outside Polokwane on Saturday and Monday.

"Eight carcasses were found in the early hours of today [Monday] on Palmitfontein which is situated next to the Silicon road. The suspects were apparently disturbed as they left all the carcasses and instruments they used to dismember the animals.
"The other three cattle were found slaughtered on Saturday on the same farm. The suspects in this incident managed to take the carcasses and left only small portions," says Mojapelo.
Police investigations are continuing.
